The victim support center is run by an association.
Association fair – for women* against violence
Under the name «Fiera – For Women* Against Violence» exists an association in the sense of Art. 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code with its registered office in Winterthur. The association operates the cantonal recognized victim counseling center «Exhibition Victim Counseling Winterthur» with a feminist orientation that is partisan in its support for women* affected by violence. The association does not pursue commercial goals and does not aim for profit; it operates exclusively for the public good. The association also contributes to social development and change in a preventive sense through public relations and educational work.

History
The association was founded in 1989 under the name «Verein Nottelefon für vergewaltigte Frauen». On April 1, 1990, the counseling center «Nottelefon für vergewaltigte Frauen» began its work. With the introduction of the Victim Assistance Act in 1993, it was recognized as a cantonal victim assistance counselling centre.
Over the years, several name changes reflected the further development of the organization: in 1995 it became the «Women's emergency hotline, advice centre against sexual violence», in 2004 the «Women's emergency hotline, advice centre for women affected by violence» and in 2015 the «Women's emergency hotline, advice centre, victim support for women ● against violence».
