Sexual harassment in the workplace

All employees are entitled by law to be safe and respected in the workplace. Sexual harassment is not permitted.

Gender Equality Act

The Gender Equality Act (Art. 4 GIG) protects women* and men against discrimination and sexual harassment in working life (Art. 4 GIG).

For example:

  • lewd or sexist remarks
  • unwanted touching
  • intrusive staring
  • Sending or showing pornographic material
  • Threats or pressure to coerce sexual behavior

Sexual harassment must not be ignored. It is important to get help and set clear boundaries. Employers must take measures to protect employees.
